There’s a great article up on Splitsider about when great sitcoms had their first truly great episode. It’s fun to compare it to what my own personal memories of the shows are like. Obviously I didn’t sit down and watch the first two seasons of all of these shows before reading the article, but I have watched all of these shows from the beginning. It’s been too long since I first watched shows like Seinfeld or The Simpsons, but for the rest of them I distinctly remember being blown away by those exact episodes. Within the past 3-4 days I have sought out clips from both the Community episode (The Troy and Abed tag where Troy talks about being a donut) and the 30 Rock episode (the first appearance of Dr. Spaceman, in which he says “the thing about medicine is that it’s not exactly a science.”)
