Randomly came across a video of two guys doing their own version of Jay and Kanye’s Frank Ocean featuring jam “No Church in the Wild”. When it comes to a dude I’ve never heard before rapping over a popular beat, my expectations are always low. Really low. But dude on the mic was far from worthless. Instead of a bunch of unconnected rhyme book leftovers (which is what I normally expect), he actually took the subject material of the original song and ran with it. The opening bars of that second verse are especially dope. Would have been cool to see him hit that beat with a different flow, but at the same time trying to find a better one than Jay is kind of a losing cause. Flow is kind of what Jay does best. Either way, this dude Levelz (@Levelzdey on Twitter) seems nice. As soon as it’s not so late it’s morning I’ll actually check the dude out.
